Pat Out-Raises Sestak by over $1 million; Raises $3.1 Million in 2nd Quarter
U.S. Senate candidate and former small business owner Pat Toomey broke a new fundraising record for the second quarter of 2010 and out-raised his opponent Congressman Joe Sestak by over $1 million. Pat raised $3.1 million and the campaign has $4.65 million cash on hand.
Since Pat’s announcement of his candidacy in April 2009, he has raised $10.3 million from over 54,000 contributors. Pat has outraised his previous first quarter fundraising record by $800,000.
With over 54,000 contributors and a clear lead in the polls, it is clear that Pennsylvanians are rallying to Pat Toomey’s message of less government and more jobs and rejecting Congressman Joe Sestak’s support for bailouts, massive tax increases, and record deficit spending. It is also clear that Pat is well positioned for victory in November.
“I am so appreciative for all the support I have received for my candidacy,” Mr. Toomey said. “As I travel across the state, I meet more and more Pennsylvanians who want to join our campaign in order to bring true change and fiscal sanity to Washington. If I am elected to the U.S. Senate, I intend to do just that.”
